A FIT COORDINATED HALF MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM

The Half Marathon Training Program is a 12-week supported training program, starting in January, aimed at preparing participants that have a solid running base to complete the Australian Running Festival’s Half Marathon held in April in Canberra each year.

The primary objective is to prepare participants to get to the start line without injury.

Stay tuned for details on the next program intake.

The program is targeted to runners that are currently running at least three times per week. It’s well suited to those either looking to complete their first half marathon, or interested in improving their current half-marathon time.

Participants should be able to:

  • Complete a 10 km run
  • Be able to attend the majority of training sessions throughout the 12-week period

Training sessions will include three general coached training sessions (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with cross training recommended on non-running days). The program will commence in early January and run for 12 weeks.
